The tiniest beasties are often the fiddliest to knit but this little squirrel is surprisingly straightforward. You knit the squirrel in one piece as a length of i-cord, from tail tip to nose, and then wet felt it down to a neat miniature of itself. The legs and tail are knitted as simple short rows. This kit contains almost everything you need to make one tiny squirrel: yarn (2.8g of Jamieson's of Shetland Spindrift 100% Shetland wool, shade Paprika), brooch pin, two 10/0 glass beads for eyes, beading needle, black cotton embroidery floss, ginger cotton embroidery floss (for sewing the brooch pin on).
Just add 2.75mm double pointed needles (only 2 needed), a wool needle, a sewing needle and your time! (I decided to include a beading needle because most knitters will have ordinary needles but not all will have the more niche beading needle, fine enough to fit the glass beads for eyes).
This kit is an intermediate level of difficulty.
Please note this is a kit and not a finished squirrel. You can buy squirrels knitted by me here. You can download my squirrel knitting pattern for free here.
