I love designing hand knitting patterns, from acessories to decorations. Here is a selection of my patterns available in the Woolly Brew yarn shop, Pittenweem, Fife, on Ravelry and from Di Gilpin.
A selection of my hand knit patterns- you can find more here on my Ravelry page.
Gemstone Mitt
Cables encircle embroidered spots in these delicate little mitts. Most of the texture comes from quick and easy mock cables, with only the circles worked with a cable needle. I give simple instructions on a fool proof method for embroidering neat spots.
Teacup mouse
I don't know why this tiny mouse is having a bath in a teacup but it is.
Add a loop to turn it into a hanging decoration.
Tiny Barn Owl Decoration
Knit your own tiny barn owl decoration. You knit the owl in stranded colourwork in the round and then wet felted down to a sweet miniature of itself.
I also sell owl kits.
Tiny Turtally Tortoise
Knit a tiny tortoise/turtle to fit in a walnut shell. Most tiny beasties are fiddly to make but this is surprisingly straightforward.
Woolly Brew Teacup
Little knitted teacup decorations, designed to celebrate The Woolly Brew yarn shop's 10th birthday
Swerve Hat
FREE at the Woolly Brew yarn shop and on Ravelry
An easy, contemporary cable project in cosy aran weight. This hat is very stretchy so fits from small adult to large adult head sizes. I also give instructions on how to make an extra large size and how to customize the height of the hat.
Simple mock cable mitts
FREE at the Woolly Brew yarn shop and on Ravelry
Uncomplicated mitts, with mock cables for crunchy texture.
The rib makes for a stretchy mitt, which fits from teen through to medium adult.
Willowherb mitts
Pattern £3.75 on Ravelry

A stem of willowherb travels the length of these long, cosy, fair isle mitts. I designed these mitts for Di Gilpin's marshmallowy soft Scottish lambswool yarn Lalland. Both pattern and kits available.
