This is the brighter version of my honeycomb cowl, here made from merino yarn hand-dyed in small batches by Colliston Yarns or in a limited edition colourway in YarnTings, combined with lightly variegated, deeply coloured hand-dyed yarn. I originally designed this cosy cowl for my ornithologist partner, to keep him warm during long winter days in the field. It's a little closer fitting than some of my other cowls so that you can pull it up over face on colder days... or you can just allow it to drape gracefully around your neck when it's less chilly.
I knit each cowl in two colours, in a pattern of bubbles and skewed stripes and knit on a neat, contemporary, corded edging.

I love designing hand knitting patterns, from acessories to decorations. Here is a selection of my patterns available in the Woolly Brew yarn shop, Pittenweem, Fife, on Ravelry and from Di Gilpin.
