I’ve knitted this cowl in my ‘strung leaves’ lace pattern, with traditional Shetland lace steeks running along both edges. I’ve hand grafted the lace into a loop, long enough to go once around your neck. I’ve knitted these cowls in British wool, grown, dyed, spun and finished in the UK. The Stormy Forth colourway (the muted greyish-blue of the winter sea by the village where I knit), from the Pennine Collection, is a blend of Suffolk and Jacobs sheep, which gives it a light marl. The Thistle colourway is from Z. Hinchliffe's British Wool collection.

I love designing hand knitting patterns, from acessories to decorations. Here is a selection of my patterns available in the Woolly Brew yarn shop, Pittenweem, Fife, on Ravelry and from Di Gilpin.
