My little knitted mole caught an earthworm!
My moles began when I forgot to knit the top of a badger's head and it looked a little moley, followed by lots of swatching and tweaking to make it properly moley - long pink-tipped nose, little legs and tail, etc. I t took me a few attempts to work out how to sensibly make sweet mole paws suitable for digging - my final version is very jazz paws!
I've finished a small herd of tiny mole decorations in anticipation of the Bowhouse Christmas Weekend with East Neuk Open Studios, on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd November. A finished mole is very small - about 6cm tall - but is the end process of knitting, stuffing, sewing up, wet felting, trimming, blocking, embroidering and embellishing, so I can only make small batches.
